Our Staff

Welcome To Vision Therapy

Our staff is comprised of two behavioral Optometrists, four Certified Optometrist Vision Therapists, an Office Manager and two patient Care Coordinators. Our two Behavioral Optometrists Dr. Roser and Dr. Hollenbach, both have their Fellowships in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. COVD is our international organization providing education, and certification in the areas of vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation. A Fellowship is equivalent to Board Certification in the medical profession, and requires continuing education in these areas, written essays, case reports, formal written testing, and an oral interview before the international board. All three vision therapists in this practice are also certified by COVD with a similar process to become Certified Optometric Vision Therapists. They must submit written essays, take a formal test, and sit for an oral interview before the board. As for most professionals, annual continuing education is required to maintain certification.

Christa Roser, O.D., FCOVD joined Dr. Weaver as his partner in his quest to provide full scope vision therapy to York, Lancaster, and Adams counties. She was exposed to vision therapy while she was a student extern in a practice in Reading, PA, and found her passion in working in this specialized field. In fact, she stayed at this practice for her first 5 years of practice, working with two mentors who had been providing vision therapy to the Reading area for over 30 years. In 1992, she was asked to come to her home town of York and become director of the vision therapy practice that Dr. Weaver and his wife Julie had started.

Dr. Roser is a native York County resident, graduating from York College in 1983, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1987. She earned the Alumni Award for Highest Scholastic Attainment upon graduating from optometry school. After 20 years of schooling, she furthered her education with independent study to attain her fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 1992. This is equivalent to board certification for vision therapy.

Dr. Roser currently is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, The Optometric Extension Program Foundation, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. She consults at both Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in York, and WellSpan Surgery, and Rehabilitation Hospital for patients with brain injuries resulting in vision deficits.

When she is not seeing patients at her private practice, or consulting at the rehab hospitals, she enjoys time on the farm with her husband, dog, goats, and horses.

Dr. Robert Hollenbach, O.D., FCOVD joined the practice in 2001. He had been working with Dr. Weaver in his general practice for several years before he discovered his love of the behavioral approach to vision therapy. He has brought his joy in working with children to the practice and not only conducts evaluations, but also works in the therapy room.

Jane Aldinger, B.S., COVT, has been with the vision therapy practice since 1991, shortly after Dr. Weaver started it. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in psychology, and completed one year of graduate school for counseling. She received her certification as a vision therapist in 1993. After 29 years as a vision therapist, Jane still appreciates the uniqueness of every patient, and enjoys assisting them on their journey to achieving their potential. She has three children, four grandchildren, and enjoys walking her dogs, cooking and reading.

Carol Vallosio-Snyder, B.S., COVT, joined us in 1995, and completed her COVD certification as a vision therapist in 1997. Carol's background is in teaching, having graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She taught kindergarten following college graduation. Carol thoroughly enjoys each, and every one of her patients. She has two daughters, a son, and a granddaughter. She also enjoys kempo karate classes.

Beverly Lentz, B.S., COVT, joined us in 2005. In 2006, she completed her COVD certification as a vision therapist. After 14 years of working in the field of education, she went back to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, and worked in a health care facility for 3 years. In our practice, she successfully combines her skills, and experience in teaching, and health care.
